We also made dresses with being popular pattern of fabric recently in Myanmar.
Burmese women have made their longyi with colorful geometric pattern fabrics traditionally.
These days they become to use checked, striped or floral pattern fabrics for their longiyi.

ある晴れた朝に、ヤンゴンで100%の女の子に出会うために

僕はある晴れた10月の朝にサンチャウン通りを歩いていた。空には刷毛で佩いたような薄く霞んだ雲が暗示的に浮かんでいた。雲たちは雨期の終わりを告げる楽天的なメッセージを地表に伝えていた。

僕は雲たちの送るメッセージに応えて、それにふさわしい曲を頭の中で再生していた。テンプテーションズの歌う「マイ・ガール」やウィントン・ケリーのピアノ・トリオが演奏する「オン・グリーン・ドルフィン・ストリート」やニック・ロウの歌う「恋する二人（Cruel To Be Kind）」みたいな、とびきりチャーミングな曲を選曲した。
本当ならiPodで聴きたかったのだけど、僕のiPodは雨期の最中の2か月前に自宅が浸水して以来、使えなくなっていたから、頭の中で再生するしかなかった。8月の昼下がりに起きた集中豪雨で排水溝から溢れた雨水が、濁流となりサンチャウン通りから僕のアパートまで押し寄せた。その日帰宅した僕は、流れ込んだ泥水で貯水槽みたいになった部屋で、考古学者が海底に没した古代の遺跡を発掘するみたいに、水底に沈んだiPodを拾い上げたのだ。iPodは水中で永遠の眠りについたきり、二度と目を覚ますことはなかった。

とにかく、もう集中豪雨があるたびに自宅の浸水を心配する必要がなくなったことは（少なくとも来年の雨期までは）、ドイツ軍の占領から解放されたのを知った1944年8月のパリ市民みたいに僕の気持ちを浮き立たせた。

そんなよく晴れた10月の朝、僕はサンチャウン通りで100%の女の子に出会った。
彼女はレモン・イエローのエインジーと幾何学模様のラインが入った紫色のロンジーを身につけていた。彼女の衣服はよく訓練された忠実な盲導犬みたいに彼女にぴったりと寄りそっていて、彼女にしっくりと馴染んでいた。自分で言うのも何だけど、僕はシャイで人見知りをする方だ。
でも、話しかけないわけにはいかなかった。なんといっても彼女は100%の女の子なのだ。
「よかったらモヒンガーでもどうかな？　もし君が朝食をすませてなかったらの話だけど」
彼女は突然話しかけられたことに戸惑いながら答えた。「モヒンガーなら今朝家族といっしょに食べたわ」
「じゃあ、お昼にタミンジョーはどうかな？　この辺に評判の店があるんだ」
「申し訳ないけど、友だちとランチの約束があるの」
だったらと、僕は通りに面したビア・ステーションを指差して言った。「僕は、ほぼ毎日夕方になるとここでビールを飲んでるんだけど、よかったら一杯付き合ってもらえないかな？」
「悪いけど、お酒を飲む相手を探しているなら他の人を誘うべきね」

やれやれ。僕は100%の女の子に出会ったことに夢中になって、この国の90%の女の子が（もしかしたらそれ以上の割合かもしれない）飲酒をしないことをうっかり忘れていたのだ。
僕は固い岩盤に突きあたった鉱山技師のような気分になった。岩盤の下には自分の望むものがあるのはわかっている。だけど地中深く埋まったそのひんやりとした岩盤は、未知の巨大な惑星みたいに、どれくらいの大きさで、どれくらいの深さなのか見当もつかないのだ。
僕が次の言葉を探しあぐねていると、彼女は別の世界に飛び立つある種の渡り鳥みたいに、きっぱりと移動の意思を示しながら僕とは反対の方向へ歩いていった。
僕にできるのは、彼女の形の良いお尻が幾何学模様のラインが入った紫色のロンジーを揺らすのを眺めることだけだった。左右に揺れるロンジーの幾何学模様は何かの信号のようにも見えたけど、どれだけ見つめていても、そこから意味のあるメッセージを読み取ることはできなかった。

そんなわけで、今日も僕はまた100%の女の子に出会うことを願いながら、サンチャウン通りを歩いている（僕のアパートはサンチャウン通りに面しているので、歩かないわけにはいかない）。
でももう一度100%の女の子に会ったとき、僕はなんて言うべきなのだろう？

候補として名前があがっていたとは言え、今年は意外な人が獲りましたね。

今回、新たにネイビーカラーが加わりました。

The tote bag is made with the traditional colorful Myanmar fabric.
They are sewed carefully to make it durable for using under the tough condition in Myanmar.
There are five type of different colors with bags. All of them are one of a kind product. They are sewed carefully to make it durable for using under the tough condition in Myanmar.
It is better to come to the shop soon if you want to get your favorite color of one.
このトートバッグはミャンマーの伝統的な生地で作られています。ミャンマーの過酷な環境でも使用に耐えれるよう、丁寧に縫製されています。現在、店舗では5色が入手可能です。すべて一点物なので、お好みのカラーが欲しい方は、お早めにお店にお越しください。

The product is made by AAR (Association for Aid and Relief) of a Japanese NGO.
AAR supports Myanmar physically handicapped people to get professional skills and chances for their social involvement by training of tailoring and sewing.
They sell all bags at 30USD.
このトートバッグは日本のNGOAAR (Association for Aid and Relief)さんで製作されました。
AARさんは、ミャンマーの障がい者の人々へ縫製等の職業訓練を施すことで、経済的・社会的な自立を支援しています。

村上春樹的ミャンマー生活、あるいはサンチャウン管区のフォークロア

「でも、どうしてあなたはミャンマーにいるのかしら？」と彼女は訊ねた。
僕たちは、ヤンゴンのサンチャウンにあるローカル・カフェでラペイエを飲んでいた。

「よくわからないな」と僕は答えた。「確かなのは、ここには進むべき方向があり、進むべき道がある、と思う。でも、なぜか道は塞がっている。まるで気前の良いサンタクロースがプレゼントした、たっぷり積もった雪が行く手を阻むように。だから僕は勤勉な炭坑夫のように、せっせと雪を掬いあげて道を拓く。僕がここにいるのは、言うなれば、文化的雪かきのためかもしれない」
「文化的雪かき」と彼女。
「そう、文化的雪かき」と僕。
彼女はラペイエの入ったカップをスプーンで掻き回した。
それは僕に『マクベス』に出てくる魔女たちが大釜を掻き回していたのを思い出させた。
魔女たちは、得体のしれない液体を掻き回しながら呪文を唱えていた。
「きれいはきたない、きたないはきれい」

「あなたがそう思うのは自由だけど、私は世界はもっと多義的だと思うの」と彼女は言った。
僕は、彼女の言う多義的な世界を想像した。
そこには、多義的な太陽が中天に輝き、多義的な月が冷たい夜空を青色の光で照らし、多義的な海が太古から変わらぬ潮の満ち引きを繰り返すのだ。その世界に住む人々は、多義的な歓びや哀しみや愛や憎悪に包まれ、そこにはもちろん多義的な達成や挫折があるのだ。
「そうかもしれない」と僕は言った。

「ねえ、混沌という王様のお話を知っている？」と彼女は訊ねた。
知らないと僕は答えた。
「昔々、混沌という王様がいたの。彼は世界の中心を治める徳の高い王様だった。そして、彼は目、耳、鼻、口の七つの穴を持っていなかったの。彼のほかにも、世界には南海と北海に王様がいた。王様たちはみんな仲良しで、ある日、混沌が二人の王様をパーティへ招待したの」
僕は混沌について考えた。それはコンデンス・ミルクの入ったラペイエとどれくらい似ているのだろう？
「南海と北海の王様は、パーティに招待されたお礼に、混沌に七つの穴を掘ってあげた。一日にひとつづつ。だけど、混沌は最後の穴を掘った七日目に死んでしまった。あなたはどう思う？」
僕は首を横に振った。そんな難しい質問にはとても答えられなかった。

「私は思うのだけれど、世界は本質的に不完全で、それは不完全なままにしておいたほうが良いこともあるかもしれない」
「それは政府開発援助とか、非営利組織についてのこと？」
「ある意味ではそうね」
「宿命的に？」僕は訊ねた。
「そう宿命的に」
「ニコがヴェルヴェッド・アンダーグラウンドの演奏をバックに歌ったみたいに？」
「そう、あるいは『突然炎のごとく』でジャンヌ・モローが演じたみたいに」
僕はカフェの片隅で塊まっている、生まれたての子犬たちを眺めた。

それは木枯らしに吹かれた秋の落葉が、世界の果ての吹き溜まりに掃き寄せられたように見えた。
やれやれ、何も変わっちゃいない、と僕は思った。
ボブ・ディランが歌った半世紀前から、世界は常に混沌に満ちていて、いつも答えは風の中に吹かれているのだ。
ピース。

結局のところ、ライフスタイルとはある種のステートメントでありマニュフェストなのだ、と僕は思う。

・Standard (You can pick up from 1 week to 2 weeks after measurements):
   30,000MMK (without a lining)
   35,000MMK (with a lining)
・Express (You can pick up from 3 days to 1 week after measurements):
   40,000MMK (without a lining)
   45,000MMK (with a lining)

Let us explain the process of how to make a dress with a Myanmar longyi fabric at Princess Tailoring Shop.

1. Choose a fabric
You can bring your favorite fabric to the shop or we sell some longyi fabrics to suit a dress by our selection.

2.Take your measurements
The staff will take your measurements for the dress to fit you perfectly.
You can choose a design whether short sleeves or sleeveless one.
And you also chose whether the dress has a lining or not.

3. Wait for completion and Pick up the dress
You can pick up your dress from 1 week to 2 weeks after measurements with Standard service.
You can also make it earlier by using Express service from 3 days to 1 week.

The sewing pattern of us for the dresses is originally made to fit specially the standard size of fabric for a longyi.
